Why is consumerism bad for the environment?
In my understanding, consumerism negatively impacts our environment in several ways. Firstly, the production of goods often leads to resource depletion and pollution, which harms our planet. Secondly, the 'throwaway' culture associated with consumerism contributes to significant waste and landfill issues. Moreover, the energy consumed in production and transportation only adds to global warming. So, while consumerism may fuel economies, it's clear that its environmental costs are hefty.
